Darling Harbour in Sydney



Of the many tourist attractions in Sydney, the Darling Harbour in Sydney needs to be mentioned. It is the buzz center of Sydney even though few of the tourists have reported it to be lacking in character. This major tourist attraction was once a dockside area. A monorail service runs from the Central Business District to the popular Darling Harbour in Sydney. The rail makes stops at points around the harbour. The addition of the Cockle Wharf restaurant and café complex has put a new dimension to the famous Darling Harbour in Sydney.

The Australian Maritime Museum, Chinese Garden of Friendship, Panasonic IMAX Theatre, Powerhouse Museum, an Outback Centre, Star City, the Sydney Aquarium and the Sydney Art Gallery are all located within Darling Harbour in Sydney. The Australia National Maritime Museum operates a free guided tour between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. For the adventurous types, there is a cruise that they can join or maybe take sailing lessons. The Powerhouse Museum in the Darling Harbour in Sydney presents informative displays about history, science and technology of Australia.

The underwater tunnels and wonderful exhibitions at Sydney aquarium is also a sight to behold. Here you can view all the different fish from the various parts of Australia. The Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour in Sydney is the perfect place for relaxation in a tranquil and beautiful setting. You will find traditional Chinese garden here. It features 2 theatres, a nightclub, a hotel, a fitness center and plenty of shopping outlets and restaurants. A new eating and drinking joint called the Cockle Bay Wharf opposite the Darling Harbour in Sydney offers great nightlife. There is a full range of stylish restaurants, al fresco cafes, bars and clubs. Cockle Bay Wharf has life and atmosphere during the day and the evening, and is a great place to simply relax amongst friends.

The Darling Harbour in Sydney also entertains the wonderful and colourful Paddy’s market on the corner of hay and Thomas Streets.
